About Yitzhak
My name is Yitzhak Vega, based in Puerto Rico, and I’ve been taking photographs for the last several years. About seven years ago, after finishing high school, I discovered my passion for analog photography. Even before that, I always had an interest in capturing moments with my friends that I knew would become special and nostalgic memories in the future.
I became drawn to analog photography because of the process. Unlike the instant photography we have today, where a simple press of a button creates an image, shooting film forced me to slow down and learn photography one step at a time. I had to understand light, exposure, composition, and the camera itself in order to create the photograph I envisioned. That process allowed me to truly explore photography and eventually master the craft.
Over time, that passion took a new direction when I discovered how much I loved photographing weddings. There is something incredibly special about being able to step into such an important day in someone’s life and document the moments they will share with their family and friends for years to come. I love creating photographs that allow my couples to look back decades later and feel like they’re right back there, experiencing that day all over again.
From Super 8 and Polaroids to 35mm and medium format, these are all forms of photography that I genuinely love. I also love traveling, and honestly, one of the main reasons I travel is to take photographs. Photography is my energy. I work for my couples taking photographs, and when I’m on vacation, I take even more photographs.
Photography is something I know I’ll continue doing until my last breath because it has become such a big part of who I am. That same passion is something I bring into every wedding I photograph. I know that decades from now, my couples will be able to look back at these photographs and, for a moment, feel like they’re back there again. And that is what makes photography so meaningful to me.
